XP Power is looking for an Electronics Manufacturing Technician that supports production and testing through designing, providing, maintaining, and calibrating equipment used in the manufacturing process. Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Design, document, build, and implement equipment and tooling used in the manufacturing process
  • Calibrate, verify, maintain, and repair tools and equipment
  • Maintain calibration/preventative maintenance databases
  • Train Associates on safe and appropriate use of tooling and equipment
  • Perform advanced testing on non-conforming product
  • Disposition discrepant products and material

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2-year degree or formal education in electronics, manufacturing, automated machinery, or similar technical field, or 4+ years relevant experience in technician roles.
  • Electronics certificates preferred
  • IPC 610 solder certification preferred
  • Drafting software experience preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
XP Power is a major supplier of critical power conversion technology to the medical, technology, industrial, and defense markets. XP Power is looking for a HV Test Engineer to ensure the reliability of products through the analysis, troubleshooting, modification, and repair of electronic equipment and systems. They accomplish this through the development of test apparatuses and methods to prove that functionality and design meet internal and customer specifications. This role encompasses both hardware and software design for test platforms. This will also include the collection and trend analysis of test data. Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Determining the best method on how a product will be tested in manufacturing and assuring that the product meets applicable specifications
  • Developing and publishing Integrated Test Plan, detailed test plans, test schedules, and test procedures for production testing
  • Reviewing and evaluating test requirements to ensure completeness of test program
  • Responsible for determining the best method of achieving the highest test coverage using different test processes
  • Designing, automating, and implementing test platforms capable of a full electrical, high voltage test
  • Designing, automating, and implementing test platforms for Burn In, Thermal Stress Screening, etc.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM major plus two years of relevant experience is required
  • Must have previous electronics experience
  • Proficient in Windows and Office
  • Excellent programming skills
  • Strong understanding of the software development life cycle

FAILURE ANALYSIS TECHNICIAN | XP POWER

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
XP Power is a major supplier of critical power conversion technology to the medical, technology, industrial, and defense markets. XP Power is looking for a Failure Analysis Technician which involves providing root cause understanding of product returns from customers. This position is very hands-on and collaborates across multiple engineering disciplines. Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Performing product failure analysis down to component level to support RMA and customer issues
  • Performing fault isolation and defect analysis/characterization on power supply to identify root causes of product failures
  • Receiving, logging, and tracking all FA and RMA requests
  • Driving effective root cause, corrective and preventive actions, follow up, and close loop corrective actions
  • Interfacing with subcontractors and contractors and contract manufactures to identify root cause
  • Providing comprehensive technical reports to customers on findings from product failure investigations
  • Advise internal and external customers regarding corrective actions based on the results of the analysis
  • Other duties may be assigned

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Electric Engineering or equivalent working experience
  • Six Sigma Green or Black Belt is a plus
  • Knowledge of AC-DC and DC-DC power conversion circuit topologies such as fly-back, forward, boost, buck, and buck-boost converters a plus
  • Thorough understanding of analog, mixed-signal, and/or power semiconductor operational characteristics and the ability to apply fault isolation techniques at component level as well as board level
  • Comfortable with lab equipment used in the characterization and design of power supplies and systems (oscilloscopes, DMMs, EMI analyzers, loads, sources, etc.)

Mechanical Engineer | Server Technology (EXP:UNR)

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Mechanical Design Engineer will work closely with Design and Manufacturing Teams to develop and finalize product documentation for existing and newly developed products. This position will support all sustaining engineering functions to create sheet metal fabrication drawings, finish drawings, cabling drawings, specification and source control drawings, and assembly drawings using a 3D modeling software package.  The Mechanical Design Engineer will ensure that all assigned duties are performed quickly, efficiently and according to the established departmental and company policies, procedures and goals. The Mechanical Design Engineer, as with all members of the Server Technology Team, is expected to promote a positive attitude, demonstrate initiative, professionalism, personal awareness, integrity, and exercise confidentiality.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree from four-year College or University with emphasis in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or comparable experience or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous experience in an engineering support role with emphasis on sheet metal, harnessing, wiring diagram, PCB schematic, and BOM development.
  • Experience with Altium, Inventor, Productstream/Vault and Omnify a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of drafting standards for electrical and mechanical assemblies.
  • Experience with writing ECO’s using PLM software.
  • Experience with PCB design software to perform PCB design, schematic, and fabrication documentation updates.
  • Experience with performing Hipot, SELV, and Thermal testing.
  • Ability to coordinate engineering projects and demonstrate engineering technical expertise to a team.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills with the ability to provide information across multiple groups in the Company including Engineering, Marketing, and Sales.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Project management skills including planning, organizing, meeting facilitation and coordinating tasks.
  • Computer proficient with knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word/Excel/Outlook/Access).
  • Familiarity of ISO 9000 standards and audit process.

The Staff Associate Engineer performs professional engineering assignments not requiring licensure by the State Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors. This is a position within NDOT’s Rotational Engineer Program. Rotational Engineers work in various divisions throughout the department and receive experience in a variety of civil engineering disciplines while gaining a perspective of department operations. Incumbents will progress through two phases of the program over two years. The first phase takes incumbents through a nineteen-month core training rotation through fourteen major divisions within the agency. Phase two allows incumbents the opportunity to gain more in-depth exposure to a specific division or district based on the incumbent’s interests.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Certification by the Nevada State Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors as an Engineer Intern, a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in civil engineering or a closely related engineering field, two years of journey level technical experience equivalent to an Engineering Technician III in Nevada, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
