This position is responsible for developing and implementing policies and procedures, design and prepare projects and cost estimates in support of Civil Engineering activities at the Hawthorne Army Depot.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Planning, designing, and overseeing construction
Maintenance of building structures, and facilities, such as roads, railroads, irrigation projects, pipelines, water and sewage systems, and waste disposal units.
This position will support engineering needs for the production department and identify process and continuous improvement initiatives through the use of lean manufacturing, six sigma and other team-based, structured problem-solving methods. This position will perform engineering tasks related to product and process time standards, production and manpower planning, capital projects and process design, startup and modification. The schedule for this position would be worked around the student’s class schedule as needed.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Interface directly with all levels of manufacturing and product engineering, and be responsible for process improvements and controls, machine capacity/capability studies, equipment selection and qualification, and adherence to company procedures and quality standards.
Troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing equipment issues, and write engineering documents to support changes.
Assist in design, maintenance and interpretation of meaningful and accurate performance measurement systems to increase production efficiency and cost effectiveness.
Design, procure, and implement fabrication, fixture and manufacturing equipment.
Identify and meet the need for application of lean manufacturing/continuous improvement methods, including development and execution of productive maintenance and corrective and preventative action plans & systems.
Enforce and implement safety policies and programs, meet operating budgets, complete continuous improvement plans, and coach employees on behavior/performance issues and initiate disciplinary actions if required.
The Assistant Manager will assist in managing the engineering, maintenance, planning and housing program, including real property administration functions, assist in providing the planning, engineering design and review, control and documentation of maintenance activities at the Hawthorne Army Depot. Duties include but are not limited to:
Customarily and regularly directs the work of six (6) or more employees.
Perform other duties of the same or lower level of difficulty as assigned
Plan work schedules for assigned personnel and provides technical guidance as required.
Evaluate work in progress and initiates corrective measures to accomplish established goals and objectives.
B.A. /B.S. Degree in Management, Engineering, Property Management or related field. P.E. certification helpful
Minimum 4 years of experience in facilities maintenance, facilities engineering, housing or property/maintenance management or related fields.
Must be able to operate computer connected terminal device.
The Electrical Engineer will design and prepare plans, specifications, engineering estimates and analysis, material lists, and calculations for assigned engineering projects. The Electrical Engineer will also conduct concept and feasibility studies, develop criteria, and provide preliminary plans and cost estimates relative to military construction projects
Duties will include but are not limited to:
Perform field investigations.
Prepare design analysis, computations, preliminary designs, final designs, compute costs, perform surveys and consultation work, prepare technical reports, and make recommendations
Perform ongoing inspections to determine maintenance needs. Design and prepare drawings and specifications. Develop bid packages involving subcontract work
B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering. An E.I.T. or P.E. certification is desirable.
