PLAYGROUND SAFETY INTERN | WASHOE COUNTY REGIONAL PARKS AND OPEN SPACE

DESCRIPTION:
The Pack Internship Grant Program provides funding for over sixty individual student internships with local businesses, nonprofits, and public agencies every spring. The program helps employers develop substantive internships for students. A grant through ASUN funds student wages for 120 hours in the spring semester of 2019.

Washoe County Regional Parks and Open Space is seeking a Playground Safety Intern to support the Washoe County Parks Project and Safety Coordinator in conducting site surveys in conjunction with completing safety compliance hazard forms. Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Addressing immediate safety hazards
  • Conducting site surveys at various playgrounds
  • Filling out the appropriate safety compliance hazard forms
  • Communicating with the Park Project and Safety Coordinator
  • Regarding which parks were inspected
  • Assisting the Park Project and Safety Coordinator with making repairs

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • Required to be outdoors for the majority of work hours
  • Will need to have a vehicle
