POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Manufacturing Engineer to join the Server Technology team in Reno, Nevada. The Manufacturing Engineer will work independently to provide engineering guidance to plan, design, and optimize manufacturing processes. This position will provide advanced level of technical expertise to develop practical solutions for manufacture, testing, or improvement of company products. This position will ensure that all assigned duties are performed quickly, efficiently, and according to the established departmental and company policies, procedures, and goals. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Developing, optimizing, and implementing manufacturing methods and processes through various functions (e.g. line balancing, general assembly flows, and process flows)
  • Coordinating new product introduction initiatives throughout Operations both at the contract manufacturer and production environment
  • Creating, updating, and enhancing manufacturing processes and documentation
  • Resolving Bill of Materials and routing errors in the company ERP system
  • Addressing daily production issues and working cross-functionally to recommend short and long-term solutions
  • Executing manufacturing engineering assignments that involve advance analysis

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university with an emphasis in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or comparable experience or related field OR equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of four years of manufacturing engineering experience in a fast-paced production environment is preferred
  • Previous 2D or 3D CAD design experience (package design experience is preferred)
  • Project management skills including planning, organizing, meeting facilitation, and coordinating tasks
  • Computer proficient with knowledge of Microsoft Office products (such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access)
  • Ability to apply cost and benefits analysis to requested projects
  • Ability to coordinate engineering projects and demonstrate engineering technical expertise to a team
  • Effective oral and written communication skills with the ability to provide information across multiple groups in the company, including Engineering, Marketing, and Sales
  • Strong organizational and planning skills and the ability to work independently
