MANUFACTURING ENGINEERING INTERN | LINCOLN ELECTRIC CUTTING SYSTEMS 

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Lincoln Electric Cutting Systems (Torchmate and Vernon Tool) is the world’s leading manufacturer of low-cost CNC solutions and have been manufacturing cutting machines for over thirty years. The company offers solutions from small home machines to large capacity industrial machines.

Lincoln Electric Cutting Systems is looking for an intern to learn the products, processes, and employees who manufacture the world’s leading CNC machines. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Working hands-on throughout the facility
  • Machine assembly and testing
  • Mechanical troubleshooting
  • Building prototypes under the guidance of engineers
  • Drafting and design work
  • Assisting in transitioning products to a manufacturing environment while working with production staff
  • Bills of Materials generation and coordination to purchasing department
  • Assisting the staff to improve the quality of existing products and developing new ones
  • Communicating with other departments

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Current junior or senior-level Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering student
  • Practical understanding of engineering principles and methods
  • Statics and Solid Mechanics course work
  • Familiar with CAD (CATIA, SolidWorks, Solid Edge, etc.)
  • Experience with hand and power tools; experience in fabricating, assembling, and disassembling mechanical parts
  • Electrical knowledge is preferred
  • Ability to work safely, alone, and with others in an industrial setting
