COMPUTER SCIENTIST – FIELD OPS | FBI

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is seeking a Computer Scientist to join the Field Ops program. The Computer Scientist performs basic system and network procurement, installation, administration, security, and assists others on more complex matters in adherence to established FBI policies and guidelines. Other duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Using, troubleshooting, and modifying existing tools and methods to identify, isolate, preserve, and analyze digital data
  • Assisting in the identification, vetting, and implementation of new tools and methods in adherence to established FBI policies and guidelines
  • Developing and implementing basic custom tools and methods to identify, isolate, analyze, and preserve digital data
  • Assisting in the development and use of basic computing environments for analysis
  • Assisting others in the development and implementation of more advanced tools in adherence to established FBI policies and guidelines

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Bachelor’s degree with thirty semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science
