Visit the American Public Works Association at the College of Engineer Career Fair on Thursday, February 15.
The Nevada chapter of the American Public Works Association (APWA) will be partnering with private firms and public agencies to award internships to deserving students in Nevada. Public works is a broad category of infrastructure projects for recreational, employment, and health and safety uses in the greater community. They include public building (municipal buildings, schools, and hospitals), transportation (roads, bridges, and airports), public spaces (public squares and parks), public service (water supply, sewage, and dams), and other physical assets and facilities. Interns will be employees of Nevada Public Works agencies or private firms. Internships will last eight weeks and may be extended at the discretion of the employer/intern.
- Nevada resident or attended/graduated from a Nevada high school
- Entering freshman year or currently enrolled in a public works related curriculum (includes supporting and upper division classes in geology, engineering, or public works policy)
- Desire to attain a Bachelor’s or higher degree in a course of study leading to a career in the field of public works, public administration, or related private enterprise (e.g. business, architecture, science, engineering, etc.)
