POSITION DESCRIPTION:
General Electric (GE) is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join the Baker Hughes (a GE company) team. The Mechanical Engineer has opportunities in new product development, existing product sustaining and support, and test engineering as well as new application development including small-scale, short-cycle custom design tasks that leverage existing standard product platforms. GE’s engineers are involved in all aspects of product development ranging from system-level design and requirement analysis through prototype generation and testing to final design validation and documentation. Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Evaluating new applications of Measurement and Control Bently Nevada product lines for safety and quality
  • Creating new designs and modifications for the Measurement and Control Bently Nevada product line
  • Continually enhancing existing products for improved function and manufacturability
  • Working productively with all aspects of the business (e.g. sales, manufacturing, purchasing, and planning)
  • Engaging in all aspects of project development ranging from system-level design and requirements analysis through code development and testing

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum of 3.0 GPA in Bachelor’s degree program
  • Skills in AutoCAD and/or 3D mechanical design packages
  • Ability to continue complicated jobs to completion in a timely manner
  • Ability to identify and drive process improvements
  • Demonstrated skills in problem solving
  • Fast learner with energy and enthusiasm
