MANUFACTURING ENGINEER | XP POWER

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
XP Power is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to join XP Power’s team. The Manufacturing Engineer develops and implements optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards. The Manufacturing Engineer also recommends and implements improvements to production processes, methods, and controls and also coordinates manufacturing launch for new or revised products. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Carrying out process improvement, problem resolution, project design, and employee trainings
  • Improving manufacturing processes for cost reduction, quality, and efficiency improvement
  • Scheduling project timelines and performing to establish milestones
  • Assisting management in improving production control systems and tools including standard operating procedures, safety guidelines, quality control measures, and training
  • Performing research, design, and development of manufacturing processes including production flow, assembly methods, tooling, and production equipment
  • Completing root cause investigations on non-conforming processes or equipment
  • Coordinating the launch of new or revised product into manufacturing (which includes establishing goals, standard hours, training, documentation, and evaluating results)
  • Designing or sourcing various tooling, machinery, and equipment
  • Determining feasibility of designing new plant equipment or modifying existing facilities considering costs, available space, time limitations, company planning, and other technical and economic factors

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proficient in Windows and Office
  • Proficient in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or equivalent
  • LEAN and/or Six Sigma training or knowledge
  • Demonstrated Statistical Process Control (SPC) skills
  • Ability to write reports, procedures, and business correspondence
