ASSOCIATE ENGINEER STAFF 1 | NDOT
The Staff Associate Engineer performs professional engineering assignments not requiring licensure by the State Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors. This is a position within NDOT’s Rotational Engineer Program. Rotational Engineers work in various divisions throughout the department and receive experience in a variety of civil engineering disciplines while gaining a perspective of department operations. Incumbents will progress through two phases of the program over two years. The first phase takes incumbents through a nineteen-month core training rotation through fourteen major divisions within the agency. Phase two allows incumbents the opportunity to gain more in-depth exposure to a specific division or district based on the incumbent’s interests.
- Certification by the Nevada State Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors as an Engineer Intern, a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in civil engineering or a closely related engineering field, two years of journey level technical experience equivalent to an Engineering Technician III in Nevada, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Civil engineering work experience gained in a college-level internship, Engineer In Training (EIT) program, or college research position is required
