Manufacturing Engineering Technician | Server Technology (EXP:UNR)


The Manufacturing Engineering Technician will support the manufacturing process through equipment assembly/setup/maintenance, tool room support, and manufacturing documentation creation. Manufacturing Engineering Technicians are creative thinkers who utilize their practical knowledge to optimize best practices throughout production. This position will provide technical assistance to the Manufacturing Engineers to develop practical solutions for manufacture, test, or improve company products. The Manufacturing Engineering Technician will ensure that all assigned duties are performed quickly, efficiently and according to the established departmental and company policies, procedures and goals. Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Distributing and receiving parts, tools, and equipment to employees
  • Ensuring tool room items are documented and accounted for; updating tool room database to ensure accuracy of items
  • Identifying, maintaining, and tracking the location of each part and tool in the organization
  • Organizing and maintaining parts and equipment in the tool room
  • Be familiar with Safety Data Sheet (SDS) of all hazardous materials and maintaining inventory of hazardous material
  • Identifying all spare parts inventory with labeling and database records
  • Be familiar with EPA compatibility chart for hazardous material and conduct proper procedures for disposing hazardous waste
  • Assembling and maintaining tooling and fixtures required for manufacturing processes
  • Assisting in the creation and maintenance of manufacturing processes and documentation
  • Assisting in ESD equipment testing


  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) supplemented by college-level Electronics Technician coursework; Associates degree in Industrial Electronics or related field preferred; or three years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of two years manufacturing engineering experience in a high volume production environment preferred
  • Previous 2D and 3D CAD design experience a plus
  • Some basic electrical understanding
  • Effective oral and written communication skills with the ability to provide information across multiple groups in the company including manufacturing, engineering, quality, and purchasing
  • Basic computer skills including Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, etc.)
  • This position requires up to fifteen percent of travel; some international travel may be required
  • Familiarity of ISO 9000 standards and audit process
