ELECTRONIC REPAIR TECHNICIAN | SERVER TECHNOLOGY (EXP:UNR)

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Electronic Repair Technician will work as part of a team to assemble products, troubleshoot, and repair electronic components of the product. This position will perform all tasks in the assembly process and rotate through all or most of the tasks as assigned. The Electronic Repair Technician may be assigned complex tasks requiring a greater knowledge and skill. This position will ensure that all assigned duties are performed quickly, efficiently, and according to the established departmental and company policies, procedures, and goals. Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Performing repair and rework to PCA assembly
  • Providing support to Quality Assurance department on repair of units
  • Maintaining failure information in repair database
  • Creating and displaying work instructions in the CRM system (Vantage)
  • Accessing drawings in Omnify and follow work instructions to complete assignments
  • Independently performing training for other employees on simple, repetitive bench assembly processes
  • Performing complex soldering and training other employees on the process
  • Accurately identifying products by product model numbers
  • Accurately identifying commonly built assemblies and sub-components by part number
  • Identifying non-conforming parts or assemblies and resolving related issues
  • Performing proper crimping and cabling techniques and to identify and resolve issues
  • Reading and understanding complex wiring diagrams and layout drawings and training other employees as required

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) supplemented by college-level Electronics Technician coursework; Associates degree in Industrial Electronics or related field preferred; or three years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of two years electro/mechanical assembly experience preferred
  • Advanced diagnostic and troubleshooting skills with a logical approach to both mechanical and electronic problem solving
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to solder wires for cables, small wires, and surface mount components
