FACILITIES ENGINEER | PANASONIC (EXP:UNR)

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Panasonic Energy of North America (PENA) is collaborating with Tesla Motors to construct a large-scale advanced battery manufacturing facility known as the Gigafactory near Reno, Nevada, which is known for its quality of life and expansive outdoor adventures. Panasonic’s role in the Gigafactory will be to manufacture and supply cylindrical lithium-ion cells and based on the battery demand from Tesla, the Gigafactory is planned to produce cells which will double the world’s current population. The Facilities Engineer position offers you the opportunity to expand your skills and experience in critical infrastructure and facilities operations with a factory that is the only one of its kind. On a daily basis, the Facilities Engineer will be involved with operations, project management, construction management, and more. Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Supporting design and installation of electrical systems for facilities, HVAC, emergency generators, production tools, etc. for ground up construction and updates for operational and energy efficiencies
  • Arranging schedule and cost control of electrical system construction
  • Developing and monitoring energy control and conservation systems
  • Conducting routine ongoing electrical assessments of the building systems operations
  • Performing tests and rounds and analyzing data to assure the proper functioning of equipment
  • Troubleshooting in order to have electrical system robust on the technical

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field
  • Electrical design experience and have supported and constructed large facilities, preferably in advanced manufacturing environments
  • Demonstrated experience with energy saving programs
  • Expert, hands-on electrical skills for design and installation
