ASSOCIATE ENGINEER 2 | NEVADA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION (EXP:UNR)

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Associate Engineers perform professional engineering assignments not requiring licensure by the State Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors. Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others. Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Works with Roadway Designer to develop plans and specifications and reviews them for accuracy
  • Visits contract sites and reviews placement of concrete in structures and roadway paving
  • Communicates with the Resident Engineers and District Engineers to address challenges on construction projects

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in civil engineering or closely related engineering field and two years of professional engineering experience
  • Certification by the Nevada State Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors as an Engineering Intern and two years of professional engineering experience in civil engineering or closely related engineering field
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Licensure required within one year of appointment and as a condition on continuing employment
