SEISMIC TEST ENGINEER | THE VMC GROUP (ELE:UNR)

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

We have an opening for a Seismic Test Engineer. This position is located in our Testing & Measurements lab, DCL Labs, located in Sparks, NV. We seek those who are results oriented, critical thinkers, able to thrive in a fast paced work environment while maintaining the integrity and orientation to detail. The essential responsibilities include:

  • Determine project feasibility
  • Generate test plans and test procedures
  • Maintain communication with the customer relative to the complete scope of the project
  • Engineer frame and fixture design for tests
  • Equipment testing
  • Establish and follow defined shake test procedures and methods to apply the use of instrumentation to test equipment
  • Maintenance of laboratory equipment

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BS in Mechanical or Civil Engineering, Masters degree preferred
  • Practical experience working on engineering projects
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Understanding of the fundamentals of vibration and shock testing a plus
  • Experience with following detailed equipment test procedures a plus
  • Visual acuity and ability to distinguish colors
