MECHANICAL ENGINEERING INTERN | SPEED OF AIR TECHNOLOGIES
The internship position at Speed of Air will focus heavily on hands-on laboratory type experience, technical writing, and research & development. Data acquisition, analysis and testing are all important aspects of the position. The intern would play an active part in assembling and working on many different test engines and designs, including diesel, gasoline and gaseous fuel powered engines. The intern would be exposed to several methods of testing and become familiar with testing equipment such as an airflow bench for testing internal component flow rates as well as a dynamometer complete with performance and emissions capabilities. The participant would be exposed to working extensively with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and computer systems, as well as thermal controls and boundary layer physics.
- Basic understanding of the internal combustion engine, SolidWorks, Autodesk inventor, Daq-View, and Microsoft Excel
- Strong writing and verbal communication skills
- Able to collect, organize, compile and summarize data
- Accurate attention to detail
